Coincidence?

Earlier this month, I nominated Denzel Washington as my philosopher of year for 2008. Next thing you know he is hosting the Citizens Ball on TV with Barack, Michelle and a bunch of other famous people. Coincidence? It could be, but I don't think so.

Being That Guy

Saturday was a day to remember. North Chagrin in a snowstorm. Snow fell throughout my 50 minute workout. It was very quiet. I did see a cross country skier (the same one twice), a couple of hikers, and another runner or two. A few cars went by and the snow plows were doing their thing. I loved being that guy who was out running in the cold and snow.

Denzel Washington

One of my favorite philosophies of 2008 came from Denzel Washington. According to Denzel, "You have to do what you have to do so you can do what you want to do." Makes sense to me. Now for running is it what I have to do, or what I want to do? Yes is the answer. Running is both.

It makes me think of the rare person who has a job that they would do for free.
