Hot

I opted for the bike yesterday. I have very uncool bike, I know. It is a grandpa bike but I don't really care. Well at least not enough to do something about it. It was too hot yesterday for an afternoon run.

Funny story. Some time ago two friends came over to go for a bike ride. One, my usual bike riding buddy Mark, the other some jerk. I had my bike outside ready to go. The jerk says to Mark, "Is Rick's wife riding with us today?" Did I mention this guy is a jerk? So I come out of the house to find Mark laughing, kind of at me in a way that would have been funny, if it was not me being laughed at.

Loving life.

Arizona

Vacation is a great time for running. Schedules are open and flexible. The stress of professional life is off. The place is new and should be interesting to explore. It is also good to break up all of that together time with some personal time. So how many miles did I run last week on vacation in Sedona, Arizona? About one mile.

On Opening Day - Marketing Rules

I am so optimistic, maybe even borderline delusional.

I heard Paul Dolan speak last week. Dolan is the CEO of Cleveland Indians. He talked about Cleveland baseball just like a fan and that made a good impression on me. He cares about the game and our (his) team in particular. No secrets were revealed, but he did share about the glass of water. The manager (Eric Wedge) sees the glass as half full, the GM (Mark Shapiro) sees the glass exactly as it is. The marketing department sees the glass filled to the top and spilling out. Everyone doing their job perfectly.

Go Cleveland!
