Dimensions of a soccer field

Who knew? Unlike a football field which is always 100 yards, a soccer field measures between 100 and 130 yards. That is right, it is variable. Optimum is 120 yards, which is 109 meters.

I like to make stuff up. So tonight I created a fun interval workout at the soccer field. Details of which, especially the times are not important to anyone, even me.

Yes - that was me.

What the you know what is going on? Me out running on the sidewalk at 2:30 pm, 93 degrees. August in Cleveland.
If I saw me, I would have thought something like, "what a kook!" Life can get busy sometimes, know what I mean? I was out there at that time, because the alternative was to skip my run for the day. And I just did not want to skip, I wanted to run.

Business Trap

Ok - I meant business trip, not trap. When I am home I have pretty good discipline. Working out, sleeping, eating - the usual stuff. Put me on the road and it is just so easy for me to work too much, eat too much or drink too much or all of it too much. I do love to get out and run in other places and Seattle is a great place for runners. The climate is fine for running and the scenery can be awesome. It may or may not be true, but it seems to me that more people here are into the outdoors and fitness than back in Cleveland.
This was taken during my run yesterday. Believe it or not this is a trail that is right in a business area. They really figured this out. August in the northwest is berry season and there were blackberries everywhere - Gatorade not needed!

North Chagrin Reservation

My home park. Convenient, safe, variety, beautiful year round. Not sure what else a runner could ask for. I have been running at North Chagrin for at least 10 years and I will happily run there this weekend. One of these days, after I retire probably, I am going to take the time to learn about the trees - names and life spans, etc. For now I just enjoy it as it comes.
Next running report from Seattle - business trip this week.

Twilight Run

Five Mile "race" tonight in the park. Race in quotes becuase for me it will be more of a run. I will try to go fast, but I won't really be competitive, nor will I care. I do like the big hill aspect - hope I don't wreck on the way down.
